Jamie Neilsen Photography: The Blog bio picture

Hi, I'm Jamie!

I know you have a choice.  There are a lot of photographers out there – which is a great thing because it keeps pushing me to be better than ever. When you choose me to be your photographer, I do a little happy dance and then I get right to work on creating the perfect portrait experience for you. While my craft is closely tied to gear and gadgets, I know that you are a person and you deserve a personal experience.

I promise to not only take “pretty pictures” but to take pictures that make your heart swell and your toes curl.

I promise to let you be you and photograph what comes naturally.

I promise to be silly, have fun and make you laugh out loud.

I promise to provide plenty of options and guidance so you get exactly what you’re looking for…and then add a cherry on top that you didn’t even ask for.

I promise to deliver high quality heirloom photographs that you can’t wait to hang on your walls…big.

And when it’s all said and done…

I promise to stay in touch well after your session because I value our relationship.

I’m Jamie Neilsen and I’d be honored to be your photographer.

Wanna know more?

I didn’t find photography. Photography found me.
Chewy chocolate brownies are my weakness. No nuts. No frosting.
My husband is my jeweler, personal chef and best friend.
I have nearly a dozen brothers and sisters.
I’m not a morning person.
I adore all things Italian – especially red wine and rich food.
I’m a PC by day and a Mac by night.
I don’t own a TV.
I’d rather dress up than wear jeans and a t-shirt.
I am a lifestyle and portrait photographer.

Otis Family | Backyard Portraits

Once upon a time, this big, strong fireman and this stylish, foxy lady got together and made this gorgeous, little boy. Senior Portraits | Class of 2010

He’s about to begin a year of lasts. The last football games, last dances, and final exams. His final words will be printed boldly as a senior quote next to one of these pictures and for the next ten years this is how his peers will remember him. This will probably be his last formal...

Sage | One Year

What are little girls made of?
Sugar and spice and everything nice.
That’s what little girls are made of.
This little darling lives up to her name…and I want to clone her cuteness!

Sage got to wear some great outfits during our session. Two of her dresses once belonged to her grandma. She’s already rockin’ an awesome vintage wardrobe!...

Last week, I got to hang out with the Meehan Family…twice! On my first visit to the Meehan home I got to hang out with Big Sis while Mommy tried to soothe an angry Little Brother. Big Sis showed me all the fun toys in her room and the great view she has from her...
