Caution: She’s not exaggerating and she hasn’t slept in awhile.

Oh, Internet. Have you missed me? I’ve been missing you terribly. I’m just gonna put it out there, that the last week and a half has been…out.of.control. In case you haven’t heard, I broke up with Microsoft and started courting Amazon. As a Legal Assistant Temp, I move a lot of paper work, read a lot of documents, and generally stare at black and white for most of the day. There is absolutely no time for blogging, and surfing and emailing when you start a new job {gasp!}. On the plus side, I do have a lovely window office and my coworkers are utterly delightful.

And then, there’s the house. The house is….going to be so cute one day. One of my sisters checked it out this weekend and commented on how she thought we were exaggerating the amount of work that needed to be done. There is a lot of work to be done. Another sister walked into a bedroom during the grand tour and commented on how it was a nice sized guest room. It was the master bedroom. No biggie. Honestly though, I fall more and more in love with it every time I go there. Despite the moldy, mildew smells, the beat up hardwood floors, the creatively plumbed bathrooms, or the soaked basement floor, I love it. It will be soooo cute…one day.

Last week I got an email from my husband pointing out how lucky I was to have him as my contractor. And Internet, it is so true. Not only is he willing to do the really icky dirty jobs or the really hard and grueling jobs, he makes dinner and hands me a cold beer when I walk in the front door. As I sit here typing this he’s making tomorrows breakfast. Breakfast burritos with all the fixin’s. He likes any excuse to use his new Kitchenaid Artisan Mixer. His wife gives the coolest birthday presents.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know where I’ve been and tell you that I’ll be in Idaho this Friday-Monday visiting my brother, his wife and their new baby girl. My sweet niece is 3mons already and I haven’t met her yet! Which of course means I haven’t taken any pictures. It’s outrageous is what it is. Outrageous. To add to the outrageousness (What? It’s a word. And it to your dictionary.), I’m going with my mom. I have never in my life been on a trip with just her and me. I don’t think ever. Here we are going on a road trip, driving 12 hours straight through and sharing a hotel room. I.am.so.pumped. Ha!

Well, that’s all I’ve got for now. Peanut brittle ice cream is calling my name. Look for Mother’s Day sessions and beautiful babies coming to the blog soon!

Melisa - Wow! You have been busy! When are you going to share photo’s of your new house???? Have fun in Idaho!

Jamie - Good question! I’ve taken lots of “before” pics and now we just have to wait on the “afters”. Trust me, the “befores” are way too depressing to show the world on their own ;)

Bridgette - You made me giggle, I hope they took the break up well and that your new relationship is a wonderful one.=) Have a good time in Idaho, look foward to the lovely photos that will be coming. Especially the after ones…have fun with all that fixing up. I long for the days in my life when I can own a house…
