I felt at home with the Wilson’s. Maybe it was the constant pitter-patter of feet coming and going, or the questioning sounds of toddlers, or incessant talk of favorite toy cars. Maybe it was the bubble of energy that surrounded us as walked to and from the park. Maybe it was all the smiling and laughing and shouting for attention. It was just like my house growing up where there could easily be six or more children under the same roof at one time. We’d slip and slide down the stairs in sleeping bags and toss the littlest one down the laundry shoot. We built igloos of the legendary sort and hosted fake weddings that any girl could be proud of. There were fashion shows, plays, Mario Kart tournaments, and bike riding adventures. There was rarely a dull moment and never any peace and quiet. Watching this family run and jump; tickle and squeal; climb and cuddle; warmed me inside and out on this dark and chilly November afternoon. Xeth and Xander were so excited for their family outing at the park that they couldn’t see why they would need a jacket or long pants. But about 30min into our adventure most everyone was shivering and in need of hot chocolate. They ended their session cuddled on the couch with books and hugs and laughter. They’re not just a fun family, they’re a loving and kind family. It was a pleasure to spend the afternoon with all of you!
