The Jenkins Family | Post Alley Portraits

It’s true. It rains in Seattle — especially in November. I remember ovehearing a conversation while walking around Green Lake sometime back. A mommy group was out with their strollers and clearly one of them was new to the area. She says to the group, “I thought for sure you’d cancel on account of the rain.” The other mommies giggled and one replied, “If we waited on the rain to stop we’d never leave the house!”

And so it is with family pictures. We’re not about to let the rain stop us from getting gorgeous shots of families having fun in the great outdoors! I met the Jenkins at Pike Place Market this weekend and we took cover in the tunnel at Post Alley. That little half block was full of fun backdrops and good light. The sound of rain and shoppers buzzed around us while this cute family cuddled and giggled and tickled a few smiles out of Kannon.

Kannon was so unamused by us. We were working hard trying to get this lil guy to smile. Smile or no smile though, I adore the way he’s looking down at his lovey dovey parents in this one.

Melts. My. Heart. I love love love this next shot of Kannon with his mamma….

Aww, the gum wall. Street art meets unsanitary stickiness. Tourists and passersby contribute to the growing wall daily. It’s not just about the dot, they also write things in sticky gum. You can go there at any given time and watch people stand in front of it working on a fresh wad of juicy, colorful, chewiness in preparation for leaving their mark. Who needs to scribble a name when your DNA is all over it!

Things got really playful towards the end of our session. Julie and Moses tag teamed a game of “get the belly” and “tickle monster” much to Kannon’s delight.

Don’t stop now. There are plenty more fun times and gorgeous pictures in the slideshow

Julie - These are great photos Jamie, thank you so much. We had a great time too! Thanks again.

Bridgette - Oh Jamie, I loove that one where she is looking at her son. The black and white of them walking from behind too. Man…I love your photos. I hope that you and your loved ones have a fantastic Thanksgiving.
