Kina | Senior Portraits

I got a call around 9pm one night. I don’t normally answer my phone that late if I don’t know who it is but for some reason, this time I did. When I answered the phone I heard a man’s voice, “Hi, don’t hang-up. I’m not trying to sell you anything. My daughter found your blog and she wants you to take her senior pictures.”

You can tell her dad really loves her and is so proud of her because in the next several minutes I learned that she’s a swimmer and she loves to take pictures. She’s learning to speak Japanese and she has two younger brothers. She’s creative and outgoing and what she really wants, is to have some unique senior pictures {check!}. And you know what else? She’s graduating from my old high school! I loved her already and we hadn’t even met yet. The next day we got together at Starbucks and had a great planning session. There would be bubbles and vintage cameras; great locations and awesome outfits. And although it had been raining in the days leading up to our session, the sky’s opened up to reveal a stunning autumn blue sky.

Friends, I’d like you to meet Kina. I know a lot of fellow MHS grads read this blog so be sure to leave her some love in the comments!

Yeah. I knoowwww……

Honestly, what more can I say about these pictures? They totally speak for themselves: ridiculously GORGEOUS!! You can imagine my angst at only posting a few here. Simply put, you MUST watch her slideshow! Kina worked it…hard. There’s soooo much more to see including a series of portraits where she bravely waded out into Puget Sound (which isn’t even warm in the summer let alone an autumn evening) and then proceeded to get drenched by incoming waves. Just sayin….you gotta see it!

Thanks again Kina…for everything. Your parents were great assistants and I really appreciated all there help holding reflectors, rearranging the office, hanging the swing, chauffeuring, hydrating and for letting us let loose. I’m sure they must have thought we were both a little crazy! Have a wonderful senior year and best of luck in all your future endeavors. GO MHS!!
