Otis Family | Backyard Portraits

Once upon a time, this big, strong fireman and this stylish, foxy lady got together and made this gorgeous, little boy. One year later, they asked me to be their photographer and we laughed and played and chased that cute little boy up and down the lawn all in the name of family photos. Friends, I’d like you to meet the Otis Family. Not only do they have great smiles and an abundance of energy, they’re also kind, patient and they introduce me to people as “their photographer”. Warms. My. Heart. Not “the girl with a camera” or “some girl we hired”. They chose me to be “their” photographer to take “their” family portraits. They trusted me to capture these precious moments and I’m honored to be “their” photographer.

We broke up their session into two parts after Keegan exerted all his energy in the first 15min of our first session. The second session he lasted much longer and we were able to get so many more great shots. Honestly, it was more like sports shooting than a portrait session. Keegan was constantly on the move and the best way to make him laugh was by chasing him, tossing him in the air or hanging him upside down! Thank goodness for really fast shutter speeds!

Thanks again, Kylie & Matt, for choosing me to capture this time in your life. Keegan is a great boy and I look forward to hanging out with you again for more family photos. Maybe next time we can get Grammy & The Captain in a few shots!

But don’t go away just yet! Be sure to check out the slideshow for more funny, adorable, oooh & awww moments. If nothing else, you should at least click “play” and listen to the music in the background while you go about the rest of your day because it’s a really happy song and I shouldn’t be the only one with it stuck in my head!
