Azusa | Portraits at the Beach

An alternate title for this post would be, “How I Almost Got Us a Few Tickets and Possibly Arrested | Good Times with Azusa.” Azusa emailed me a couple weeks ago wanting portraits of herself to send home to her family in Japan. I was excited about her location choice at Discovery Park and just knew it would be a fun session. The tricky thing about this park is that in order to get to the beach you have to go through a military base and military housing. Big, huge signs warn you that only authorized vehicles, residents and their guests are allowed to drive through here. But, it’s sooo pretty and naturally there aren’t many people on the beach so it makes for awesome pictures. We just had to do it. Everything was going fine despite driving through a forbidden zone and parking in a permit only lot. We got some gorgeous shots on the beach and the cloudy, gray sky provided awesome even light. And then, I had a bright idea to take a few shots on some of the old military housing grounds. Those giant, old houses with the beautiful porches and overgrown lawns called to me. We just had to do it. Everything was going fine until a police car stopped to check out our vehicles that were carefully parked in front of a gated off road. We apologized and batted our eyes and briefly explained the situation. That kind, kind officer waved us on our way and let us finish up our shoot without any penalties. God bless his art lovin’ heart. So without further ado, here she is….the stunning Miss Azusa!

And, as if that weren’t enough of the lovely Azusa, here is a slideshow with great tunes and more of our awesome adventures.
