Dee & James | Married

It was a small ceremony witnessed by a small group of friends and family in a small living room offered up by a friend. But, the love that filled the air was huge, the sincerity enormous, and the occasion…monumental. Dee and James were finally wed!

They had been waiting for this day to come but had no way of setting an actual date. With James being a sailor in the US Navy and Dee being a lady from Canada, there was a lot of paperwork and waiting around for the green light. Dee called me and then emailed me the moment she got the news. With her fingers crossed and willing to beg she prayed I was free on the Fourth of July. “Still waiting for finalization but it looks like James and I will FINALLY be able to get married and that’s the best date for us. PLEASE tell me you’re free!! I fear your big brother will die if you cannot take the pics for us.” Well…I wouldn’t want to be the cause of his death so of course I took pictures!

Here’s a little sampling of the day. Be sure to check out the slide show for more pictures and if you’re a friend of Dee and James be sure to hit them up for the guest shots and the rest of the reception!

georgia - oh what pretty bouquet she had. and the gardens behind them—just beautiful. i’m trying to remember if i have seen other wedding shoots from you besides the one in hawaii. you do these well. i would be terrified to shoot a wedding. a family shoot or something like that—you could always do over if you had to. but a wedding is a one-time shot. do you get nervous doing these? i’m sure you are cool as a cucumber. or so it would seem by your pictures. these are lovely.

i got a very nice surprise in the mail today. a really neat book! a little birdie sent it. :)

thank you. thank you. thank you. that was so sweet of you. i can’t wait to look at it more and blog about it, too.

Jamie - hi G! glad you got your present!

this was only my second wedding to photograph – although i’ve done a dozen of them as a videographer in a former life ;)

i’m super focused at weddings and just try to ride with the flow of the beast. always keep my eyes open for the next big thing and secret cute moments to capture. but, i admit, i get a little nervous before EVERY job i shoot. :)

Andie - You are such an amazing photographer. How lucky this couple is to have such phenom pics to remember their special day.

Well done friend!

vanessa - i love the photo with her arms around his neck. beautiful shot!

Dee - Jamie, only you could make one very hastily organized, next-to-zero-budget wedding look like something from a bridal magazine!! I am in awe of your talent and gifts — thank you for so selflessly sharing them with all of us! :)
