James was so kind to oblige his mother’s photo request. I’m sure it was not his first choice as a college student on his first day home for summer break to dress up, pose and smile for a complete stranger on a Saturday night. It took a little bit to warm up and get him to crack a smile. The poor guy was out till 4am partying with his friends the night before but you’d never guess with these great shots.

We had perfect weather and the light couldn’t have been better. I love this shot with the warm sun glow in his hair. I remember saying something like, “oooh, the sun in your hair looks so angelic” at which point I’m pretty sure he wanted to roll his eyes at me for sounding like a total dork but instead, because he’s a nice guy, he just gave me this great smile.

He’s workin’ some serious attitude in this shot below and I totally love it. This was taken at the beginning of our session when he was still processing what he had agreed to when saying yes to pictures. He wasn’t posing but I was snapping!

We did the whole session at the Country Village in Bothell after all the shops closed up. Lots of old buildings with great siding, streams, bridges, walking paths, and fantastic foliage made for some awesome backdrops. I’ll definitely be using this location again soon.

It was great to meet you James and I hope you and your mom like how the pictures turned out. There’s lots more to look at in the slide show!
