Jamie Neilsen Photography: The Blog bio picture

Hi, I'm Jamie!

I know you have a choice.  There are a lot of photographers out there – which is a great thing because it keeps pushing me to be better than ever. When you choose me to be your photographer, I do a little happy dance and then I get right to work on creating the perfect portrait experience for you. While my craft is closely tied to gear and gadgets, I know that you are a person and you deserve a personal experience.

I promise to not only take “pretty pictures” but to take pictures that make your heart swell and your toes curl.

I promise to let you be you and photograph what comes naturally.

I promise to be silly, have fun and make you laugh out loud.

I promise to provide plenty of options and guidance so you get exactly what you’re looking for…and then add a cherry on top that you didn’t even ask for.

I promise to deliver high quality heirloom photographs that you can’t wait to hang on your walls…big.

And when it’s all said and done…

I promise to stay in touch well after your session because I value our relationship.

I’m Jamie Neilsen and I’d be honored to be your photographer.

I adore all things Italian – especially red wine and rich food.

Week Review & Weekend In View

Hello friends. Happy Friday to you. This week seemed to go by in a blur but I’m excited to embrace the weekend.

On Tuesday I met a brand new baby boy. Our lovely neighbor delivered a healthy 10lb baby after a very long, very hard labor. It was so exciting meeting him at the hospital and watching his new parents in action. I did take a few pictures but I won’t be sharing them here. Some things are meant to stay personal. But hopefully in the next couple of weeks they’ll invite me upstairs for another session that we can all share with the world. He is such a handsome boy.

Speaking of handsome boys, my awesome husband had a fantastic surprise waiting for me when I got home from work yesterday. My closet had been pimped out with new hooks and racks and gizmos. He even went so far as to move some of my things on to the new hooks. Truly. Awesome. Man.

This weekend we’ll be helping friends and family move into new homes. I’m ridiculously excited to help because it means that some of my favorite people will be sooo much closer to our home. We’re talking 5 and 15 minutes close. That totally beats the 30 and 45 minutes far that they were before. Hehe – they’ll never get rid us now!

And, I suppose I ought to make some time for Isla this weekend too. The weather report calls for rain, rain and more rain but that’s Seattle Spring for ya. Now if I could just figure out how to shoot the rain – I might be on to something.

Wishing you all peace, love and laughter for your weekend. May you find beautiful things to photograph and exciting stories to tell.
