This weekend I had lots of plans for picture taking. I was really looking forward to a family photo-shoot with Kirsten but it snowed then rained and when the sun finally did peek out late in the afternoon the wind gusts were frigid and strong. This also kept me from attending the St. Patrick’s Day Parade with the Flickr Meetup Group.
But, I did manage a few maternity shots indoors with Kellie and Craig. We’ll be finishing their shoot later in the month when we can go outside and include their two 18 month old boys. I love how this first shot turned out!

Both of their boys were running around in the background during the session. In fact I’m pretty certain it was this shot when they were throwing balls at me while I clicked away. I’m so amazed at how calm these parents manage to be while chaos surrounds them. And, I guess it’s a good thing because baby boy #3 will be here in just a couple months.

At first, I didn’t really care for this last shot. I think it’s because of how “raw” it feels. But, the more I look at it the more I love it because it just seems so authentic and their expressions seem to say so much.

Oh, and did you notice? I got a new logo! Thanks to the lovely miss Georgiafor designing this awesome graphic. Part of my absence here on the blog is because I’m working on a new photography website to launch my business: Jamie Neilsen Photography. It should be up and running later this spring!
