Best Invite Ever!

I received an “official” invite to the Inauguration in the mail this week. The thick creamy card stock with fancy embossed lettering came in a full page envelope addressed to me with a note to “handle with care.” It came slightly bent – we’ve really got to get a bigger mail box. Then again, how often do we actually receive mail this fancy. I know lots of people must have received this (although not anyone I know). It’ll be a fun keepsake to show the grandkids!

Not they require an RSVP, but if they did I would have to decline. My “bestie” will be in town and we have trouble to get into. So excited for that.

This weekend I have a HUGE list of things to do:

  • Paint three new wood blocks with the ideas I have swirling in my head
  • Take pictures in the fog
  • Go to Ikea to purchase this for an idea I’m stealing from Kelly Rae
  • Write about Secret Number Two
  • Get an emissions test
  • Have lunch with sisters and gang
  • Refrain from buying a 50mm lens because I can’t really afford
  • Clean my house so Johanna has a place to sleep when she gets here next week

Have a wonderful Saturday!

donna - Wow…that is very exciting. It must have been hard to turn that down….although it may have been a little traumatic to be fighting the biliions of other people who will be in Washington DC to see the inauguration too! We will be viewing from the comfort of our family room sofa

Johanna - I wonder if Oprah will be leaning on the shoulder a strange man again…crying. awwww.. :)

Grey Street Girl - Pretty! I got one of these one year too. I still have it somewhere, but this year is super special. What an awesome keepsake. I like your list. I need to make one of those for tomorrow.

Andie - That is a very, very cool invite. I love the wire idea too. I use a clothesline with clothespins though. Have you looked into renting the 50? Shutter sisters had a thing about them and I checked out the rental site and it was only like $35 I think.
Mwah,

Georgia - what!?!?!?

i feel so honored that i know you. :)
actually, i already had a connection—my twin sister used to date a guy from Kenya. he was invited to attend a luncheon with other Kenyans in the Chicago area, and Obama was going to be there—he was just a senator at the time, and had not even considered running for president yet—at least not publicly. but, her boyfriend could not go because of a previous engagement, so he asked my sister to go in his place. she went and lunch with Obama and a bunch of other people—mostly people from Kenya.

then she met him at a party, too. so, i thought that was kind of cool.

well, your weekend sounds like a lot of fun! especially hanging out with sisters! i can’t wait to see your fog pics and all your other ideas unfold!

i hope your weekend is everything you hoped. i hope you get the lens, ’cause i say, life’s too short not to! :)
