Topping Last Year

xmas.jpg

Last year’s holiday card was very impromtu. The first snow had just started falling and I raced to bundle up, grab my husband and a camera. Most of our photos look a lot like this one. Close up and hand held as we quickly take a self portrait, check, reshoot, check, adjust, reshoot, check, repeat.

I’ve been trying for weeks to plan something “perfect” for this year’s card only to realize that what I really loved about last year’s card is its simplicity and honest smiles. When I think of wrapping oursleves in Christmas lights or picking out perfect outfits I can just see my husband rolling his eyes at me.

This is who we are: spontaneous, silly, no frills, happy. Now the trick is to capture that again!
