When I first started dating my husband I learned early on that he had had a vasecotomy. He already had one great son and didn’t think he’d ever want anymore. So, as our relationship grew and we eventually got married I settled on the idea that we would never have children….until this little nugget showed up.
My nephew was born in August of last year in a room packed full with my mother, two sisters, grandmother, mother’s best friend, a doctor and two nurses. I’m still amazed my sister let us all hang out to watch the birth.
It was largely because of my new nephew that our family became so much closer. We started having Sunday brunches together and could all hang out for hours just watching this little guy breathe, and smile, and wave, and wiggle. We all fell in love!
We love to spoil him. We love to play with him. We love to babysit and feed him. We watch him sleep and he makes us laugh. He’s the one we gossip about and have the most concern for. He’s always the highlight of every family conversation.
It didn’t take long before my husband and I knew . . . this was something we wanted too. In two months, one week, and three days we will be at the hospital getting that reversal. I’m so excited to start our family and can’t wait for our sweet little nephew to have a cousin to play with!
